Happiness returns to me once more! The morning has gone well; not terrifically, but well enough to repel the darker moods. And once again, I feel like I have the power to conquer every challenge. The sun sprawls itself across the green lawns and the trees shift happily in the morning winds. Across the splendorous verdure, people are strolling through a cobbled passageway lined with huge stone pillars. And before me, a little sparrow perches on the silver railing. The canteen is still quite empty, and despite the rough noise of shopkeepers chattering and utensils clanking, there is an indescribable serenity that flows through the air. The ridiculous man was right, old Dostoevsky was right, we can’t rationalize everything. Sometimes, we just have to feel with our hearts.
