The disbelief

Have you ever expected something to go terribly wrong, and then somehow it doesn’t? In fact, it goes quite well. And you’re so surprised at the result that you can’t believe it. For a little while, you wonder if there had been a mistake: “Certainly, this good mark cannot belong to me.” But no matter how many times you look and re-look at the flimsy piece of paper, the good mark remains. You try to read it from a different angle, perhaps its the person’s handwriting that you’ve muddled up. Still it doesn’t change – the good mark is yours. Afterwards, you can’t stop wondering how things turned out so well; you obsess over the piece of work. It’s almost like a trauma, except a positive one.
