“Do you think it was ethical that he let so many others die? Or that it was selfish of him to believe that he was the only righteous person that deserved saving? The ethical issues here are endless.” 

“Please, let’s not get there.” 

That is what absolutely frustrates me. Every time I try to raise some pertinent questions concerning the character of a person in the tale, it is always met with jocose nonchalance. Why are you so resistant to questioning? Why do you believe without considering the unlikelihood of your belief being a truth?

I’m reading about a person who is purported to have lived to 900 years of age. Someone gasps and says: incredible! All I’m thinking is: incredulous.

This is why I am always so frustrated.
